How an ex-Microsoft engineer turned one viral post into a rhythm.

8 of his 10 best LinkedIn posts ever came after we started. With launch weeks removed from both periods: 2.6× impressions per day, 3.5× engagements, 2× the followers in eight months — and ≈ $12,957 of reach he didn't have to buy.

The situation

He had already had one viral moment — a launch announcement that hit 53,781 impressions. Then the reach faded. One spike is a moment, not an audience, and he was too busy building to post consistently.

What we did

  1. 01

A dossier on how he thinks, built from calls and his existing posts, so every draft sounded like him.

  2. 02

Light on his time: bi-weekly meetings, everything else async on Slack.

  3. 03

Content done for him — he reviewed and approved, we shipped and reported.

  4. 04

Outreach to the right people: up to 100 new connections a week with his buyers, so posts landed with the right audience.

  5. 05

Before us (106 days): 62,640 impressions. With us (259 days): 262,456 impressions. Per day: 591 → 1,013 (1.7×) against all prior days — and 299 → 790 (2.6×) with both launch posts and the two weeks after each removed.

  6. 06

Engagements per day went from 2.3 to 7.9 (3.5×), and new followers from 1.8 to 4.7 a day (2.6×) with launches removed. Followers grew from 1,491 to 3,020 — 2× in eight months, +1,529 with us, vs +410 before.

  7. 07

Strongest stretch: April to June 2026, with 96K, 56K and 37K impressions a month.

  8. 08

8 of his top 10 posts of the year came after we started. What worked: product news with conviction (second launch, 60,046 impressions, 1,277 engagements; a growth update, 13K), contrarian takes (39K and 7K), and real conversations and news hooks (a VP of Engineering story, 14.9K; a big-tech AI-code news hook, 8.1K).

  9. 09

Who it reached: 28% software engineers (the #1 title), 42% work in software development, 26% at 10,001+ person companies. Microsoft, Meta, Amazon and Google are his top viewer companies. Top locations: San Francisco Bay Area (20%), New York (11%), Seattle (6%).

  10. 10

Ad value: 262,456 impressions × $49.37 CPM (median LinkedIn Thought Leader Ad, ZenABM 2026 benchmark) = $12,957 — still $10,220 at the cheapest format's median. His biggest post alone was worth $2,964.
