Compare
How to compare your options.
Ghostwriters write when briefed. Invisible Keyboard runs the content function. This page explains how we compare with LinkedIn ghostwriters, AI writing tools, in-house content hires, founder content agencies and executive LinkedIn agencies — and which one is actually right for where you are.
Invisible Keyboard is a done-for-you content team for B2B founders and founding teams. We run the system: strategy, idea capture, founder voice, writing, creative, publishing, distribution, engagement, and reporting. The founder reviews the final 10%; we handle the other 90%.
01
Solo LinkedIn ghostwriter
BEST WHEN — You already have strategy, a steady stream of ideas, and time to brief and review.
WHERE IT BREAKS — Cadence dies when you get busy. No distribution, no engagement, no reporting.
02
AI writing tools
BEST WHEN — Drafting speed when you already know exactly what you want to say.
WHERE IT BREAKS — They format thinking; they do not extract it. Output converges on generic.
03
In-house content hire
BEST WHEN — You have enough volume and management capacity to build the function internally.
WHERE IT BREAKS — Six months of ramp, one person's taste, and total single-point-of-failure risk.
04
Founder content agency
BEST WHEN — You want the whole function run for you — extraction through reporting.
WHERE IT BREAKS — Quality varies wildly. Verify who actually writes, and how they capture voice.
05
Executive LinkedIn agency
BEST WHEN — Multiple leaders posting as one coordinated company narrative.
WHERE IT BREAKS — Often priced per seat with thin extraction, so voices blur into one house style.

How to choose between the options
Most teams comparing content options are really choosing between three things: a freelancer, an in-house hire, and an agency. The right answer depends less on budget than on how much management capacity you have. A freelancer needs direction. A hire needs onboarding, tools, and a manager. An agency needs a decision-maker who can approve work quickly.
A useful test: if nobody on your team can spend two hours a week on content, the model that survives is the one where strategy, writing, design, and publishing all sit outside the company.
What each model really costs
- Freelance writer: lowest cash cost, highest management cost, no strategy or design included.
- In-house content hire: salary plus tools, benefits, and recruitment time — and still one person's capacity.
- Traditional agency: broad capability, slower cycles, usually priced per campaign or deliverable.
- Embedded team: fixed monthly cost covering strategy, writing, design, and publishing, priced per voice and channel.
- Doing nothing: no invoice, but the pipeline gap shows up two quarters later.
Questions worth asking any provider
- Who writes the work — the person in the sales call, or someone I never meet?
- How do drafts reach me, and how fast can I get a change made?
- What happens when my main contact is on holiday?
- Is strategy included, or billed separately once we start?
- Can I see published work, not just a portfolio of frameworks?
Where Invisible Keyboard fits
We are the embedded option: a strategist, a writer, and a designer working inside your Slack on a fixed monthly scope. That suits companies who want output without managing it, and who have at least one person willing to talk to us for twenty minutes a week. It suits you less well if you need a single campaign, or if you want someone sitting in your office. In those cases we will usually point you elsewhere.
Ship content. Consistently. Without lifting a finger.
20-minute fit call. No deck, no pitch — we tell you straight if it's a fit.
